The project aim: to participate in a training course, to learn new techniques to investigate plants’ response to different abiotic stress conditions (e.g. heavy metals and the effect of light intensity). The response of aquatic plants will be monitored by analysis of thiol compounds such as: cysteine (Cys), cysteinyl-glycine (Cys-Gly), \u03b3-glutamyl-cysteine (\u03b3-Glu-Cys), glutathione (GSH), glutathione disulfide (GSSG), bis-\u03b3-glutamyl-cysteine (bis-\u03b3-Glu-Cys), cystinyl-bis-glycine (Cys-bis-Gly), together with glutathione oligomers, called phytochelatins (PCs).<\/p>\n
The internship will take place at the Agricultural Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Agricultural Institute, Center or Agricultural Research, Hungarian Academy of Sciences) from Hungary located in Martonv\u00e1s\u00e1r for two weeks (October 8 – 22, 2018) under the guidance\/supervision of Dr. Kocsy G\u00e1bor.<\/p>\n
The mobility project offers the opportunity to develop knowledge in the domain of the physiological and biochemical processes involved in plant response (crop plants, e.g. wheat, and aquatic, e.g. Lemna minor species) under abiotic stress conditions.<\/p>\n
General objectives of the training course: i) investigation of changes in plant metabolism; ii) development of new extraction and characterization methodologies for thiol compounds, as well as enzymatic defense systems; iii) collaboration with a group of specialists from the HUN-REN Centre for Agricultural Research Agricultural Institute, with expertise in plant molecular biology; iv) possibilities of joint publications and projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
