OBJECTIVES
  • to significantly improve the diagnosis, clinical and imaging attitude, within the muscular and bone illnesses in child and in young adult.
DESCRIPTION The present project is focused on three diseases with a high impact on people’s health, in Romania and on the international level. These are: developmental dysplasia of the hip, the avascular necrosis of the femoral head in children and the rheumatoid arthritis in young adult. Complex morphological analysis will be made using non-invasive techniques ultrasound (standard ultrasound, 3D ultrasound, ultrasonic elastography in real time) and magnetic resonance imaging techniques. The 3D ultrasound and the elastography will be used for the first time for the diagnosis evaluation of this pathology. The images analysis and their processing will improve information concerning the pathogenesis of the studied diseases, fitting within the evolution phases and improving the treatment.
The originality of the project comes from the clinical and imaging study, for the first time in Romania, of these diseases and the issue of some accurate protocols of approaching the muscular and bone illnesses having a major impact on people’s health, according to European operating standard.
RESULTS ESTIMATED
  • the improvement of the present phase of the clinical imaging diagnosis;
  • the reduction of its invasiveness degree, by introducing modern diagnosis techniques, non-invasive and non-irradiative;
  • the validation of a new examination and treatment protocol is wanted, according to the patient and the evolution of the disease.
