OBJECTIVES
  • elaboration of conceptual models and applicable techniques in case of bioremediation technologies of soils contaminated with heavy metals, sulfur dioxide, petroleum products, etc;
  • use of a modern scientific methodology for risk and impact assessment of activities specific to metallurgical industry upon soils;
  • identification and development of some micro-organisms capable of ensuring the biodegradation of pollutants from the contaminated soils;
  • development of an innovative technology for biological treatment – on-site and off-site – of the contaminated soils;
  • elaboration of a remediation technology of soils contaminated by the activities specific to metallurgical industry, based on the biological treatment – on-site and off-site – of contaminated soils.
DESCRIPTION             The remediation issue of soils contaminated by the activities specific to the metallurgical industry is worldwide within the focus of the local authorities, environmental agencies, companies specialized in rehabilitation and beneficiaries: residents of the new urban complexes, company owners in the new industrial/commercial parks or even the agriculture producers.
The RESOLMET project combines harmoniously the fundamental research with the applicative experimental and industrial research and has as purpose the elaboration of some conceptual models and applicable techniques in case of bioremediation technologies of soils contaminated with heavy metals, sulphur dioxide, petroleum products have a fundamental and multidisciplinary character, contributing to the development of knowledge in the field of soils bioremediation.
