Prezentare

CONTALI’s objectives: ►assessment of heavy metals and organophosphoric pesticides contamination level in local most commonly consumed foods of plant and animal origin (toxicological relevance); ►human health risk assessment related to these contaminants; ►modern, fast and cost-effective analytical methods for the determination of HMs in foods of plant and animal origin; ►strengthening the scientific cooperation and joint research as support for the development of common scientific projects under EU Horizon 2020.
Description
The environmental contamination represents a particular danger and a major impediment for the development of a sustainable society, with negative impact on the environment quality and the human health. The heavy metals (HMs) and the organic persistent pollutants (POPs) are very toxic and bioaccumulative even in small concentrations. Beside air and water, foods are essential environmental factors to all vital processes. The contaminants are naturally found in foods, a result of anthropogenic activities or contamination during the food preparation/processing and storing. Recently, numerous studies regarding the determination of these contaminants in food samples have been performed and their risk assessed, having major importance in planning and developing of the prevention activities.
The bilateral cooperation CONTALI is designed to respond to these requirements/challenges, by: ·assessment of HMs and OPs contamination level in the local most commonly consumed foods of plant and animal origin; human health risk assessment related to these contaminants; ·modern, fast / rapid and cost-effective analytical methods for the determination of HMs in foods of plant and animal origin; ·strengthening the scientific exchange and research cooperation as support for participating in / strengthening the scientific cooperation and joint research as support the development of common scientific projects under EU Horizon 2020
